Terms of Service

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

Idea Baby Daycare (“IBD”) is operated by MECHBLOCKS, CORP (“MechBlocks,” “we,” “us”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) cover your use of the IBD app for iPhone and Android, the website at ideababydaycare.com, and everything else we offer under the IBD name (together, the “Service”).

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.

2. Who can use IBD

3. Your account

You sign in with Apple, Google, GitHub, or a one-time code sent to your email. Keep access to those accounts secure, because anyone who can sign in as you can use your IBD account. Tell us right away at [email protected] if you think someone else has used it. Accounts are for one person each and can’t be sold or transferred.

4. Free accounts and membership

A free account lets you browse Community, leave hearts and ratings, and open shared idea links. Membership unlocks capturing and developing your own ideas, including Rooms, working documents, receipts, AI assists, your public page, and the other member features described in the app and on ideababydaycare.com/membership. We may add, change, or retire features over time. If we remove something central to membership, we’ll tell you ahead of time.

5. Membership, billing, and cancellation

Where you buy

You can buy a membership in the iPhone app through Apple’s App Store, in the Android app through Google Play, or on ideababydaycare.com, where payments are handled by our payment partners, RevenueCat and Stripe. Wherever you buy, your membership works in the app and on the website under the same account. Purchases through Apple or Google are also subject to their terms. We never see or store your full card number. Website purchases appear on your card statement as MECHBLOCKS, CORP.

Prices

Membership is US$9.99 per month or US$79.99 per year. Prices in other currencies, and any sales tax, VAT, or similar tax, are shown before you pay. The price shown at checkout is the one that applies. If we change the price of your plan, we’ll tell you at least 30 days before the new price takes effect. The new price applies from your next renewal after that notice, and you can cancel before it does.

Free trial

New members get a 14-day free trial, once per person. On the website, you add a payment method when the trial starts. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your membership starts automatically and you’re charged for your chosen plan on the day the trial ends. We may decline a trial to anyone who has already had one. App Store and Google Play trials follow the same rule and are handled by those stores.

Automatic renewal

Your membership renews automatically at the end of each month or year, and you’re charged the plan price each time, until you cancel. By starting a membership, you authorize these recurring charges to your payment method. For yearly plans bought on the website, we send a reminder before each renewal.

How to cancel

Cancelling stops future renewals. You keep your membership until the end of the period you’ve already paid for, and after that your account becomes a free account. Your ideas and work stay yours, and you can still view them.

Refunds

We don’t give refunds or credits for partial months or years, or for time you didn’t use. If you were charged by mistake, for example if you forgot to cancel a trial or were charged twice, email [email protected] within 14 days of the charge and we’ll look at it fairly. Refunds for App Store and Google Play purchases are handled by Apple and Google under their own policies. Nothing here limits any refund rights you have under the law where you live.

Failed payments

If a renewal payment fails, we’ll try again for a short grace period and let you know so you can update your payment method. If we still can’t collect payment, your membership ends.

6. Gift codes

We sometimes give out gift codes for a period of membership or for a lifetime membership. Each code works once and is redeemed at ideababydaycare.com/redeem. Gift codes have no cash value, can’t be exchanged for money, and can’t be resold. A gifted membership ends when its period ends and doesn’t renew. We may cancel a code that has been sold, obtained unfairly, or used in breach of these Terms.

7. Your content

You own what you create on IBD, including your ideas, Room work, documents, photos, comments, and anything else you add (“your content”).

To run the Service, you give us permission to host, store, copy, process, and display your content, but only as needed to operate, improve, and protect IBD and to show it to the people you choose. For example, we need this permission to save your ideas, show a published idea to Community, give collaborators you invite access to your Room, and send your text to our AI provider when you ask for an AI assist. This permission is worldwide and free of charge, and it ends when you delete the content or your account. The exceptions are backups kept for a limited time, and contributions to other people’s Rooms (see section 8).

You’re responsible for your content. Only add things you have the right to share, and make sure you have permission from anyone who appears in photos, recordings, or stories you share with others.

8. Rooms and collaborators

Each idea can have a Room, a workspace for developing it. The Room’s owner decides who to invite and what each person can do, such as editing or commenting. Invited collaborators can write in the Room while the owner is a member, without needing their own membership. If you leave a Room or delete your account, what you contributed to someone else’s Room stays there, marked “Former member,” so their shared work isn’t broken. Owners are responsible for what they do with work that collaborators contribute. If you’re building something together and ownership matters, agree it in writing.

9. Publishing and Community

Ideas are private unless you choose to share or publish them. When you publish an idea or share its link, anyone with access can see it, including people without an IBD account. Community members can react, rate, and leave feedback. If you use a sharing option that posts to Age of Robots channels, your published idea and display name are shared there. Don’t publish anything you want to keep secret.

10. Receipts

When you capture an idea, IBD creates a timestamped, digitally signed receipt that shows what you captured and when. Each day, we also publish a cryptographic summary of that day’s receipts. It contains only hashes, which reveal nothing about your content. Receipts are useful evidence, but they aren’t a patent, trademark, or copyright registration, and they aren’t legal advice. If legal protection for an idea matters to you, talk to a qualified lawyer.

11. AI assists

Some features use artificial intelligence to suggest next steps, organize documents, or answer questions about your idea. When you use them, the content involved is sent to our AI provider to produce a response (see our Privacy Policy). AI output can be wrong or incomplete, so check it before relying on it. You own the output you receive, as far as the law allows, and you’re responsible for how you use it. Members get a set number of AI assists, shown in the app.

12. Connected services, webhooks, and agents

You can choose to connect other services, such as Google Drive or GitHub, send webhooks to addresses you set, or authorize AI agents to act on your IBD account. When you do, you’re directing us to share the relevant data with that service. Its own terms and privacy policy apply to it, and you’re responsible for what it does with your data. You can disconnect a service or revoke access at any time.

13. Community rules

Please don’t use IBD to:

You can report content or accounts in the app. We may remove content, limit features, or suspend or close accounts that break these rules. We decide based on what we reasonably believe. Where we can, we explain what happened and let you respond.

14. Copyright complaints

If you believe content on IBD infringes your copyright, email [email protected]. Include:

We remove infringing content and close the accounts of repeat infringers.

15. Our Service and your feedback

We own IBD, including its software, design, name, and robot characters. These Terms don’t give you any rights in them beyond using the Service. If you send us suggestions, we may use them without owing you anything. We’re a small team building IBD in the open, and we may change, pause, or stop parts of the Service. If we ever shut IBD down entirely, we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice and time to save your work. We’ll also refund any unused prepaid time on memberships bought on the website.

16. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in the app’s Settings. Deleting your account doesn’t cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription, so cancel that with the store too. We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if the law requires it, or if your account creates risk for others. The sections of these Terms that by their nature should continue, such as ownership, disclaimers, limits of liability, and disputes, still apply after your account ends.

17. Disclaimers

WE WORK HARD TO KEEP IBD RUNNING WELL AND YOUR WORK SAFE, BUT THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DON’T PROMISE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT AI OUTPUT OR FEEDBACK FROM OTHER USERS WILL BE ACCURATE. KEEP YOUR OWN COPIES OF WORK THAT MATTERS TO YOU.

18. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, MECHBLOCKS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ABOUT THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR US$50. SOME PLACES DON’T ALLOW THESE LIMITS, SO THEY MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

19. Indemnity

If someone brings a claim against us because of your content, or because you broke these Terms or the law, you agree to cover our reasonable costs and losses from that claim, to the extent the law allows.

20. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be decided in the state or federal courts located in Washington, and you and we both agree to their jurisdiction. Either of us may instead bring a claim in small-claims court if it qualifies. If you live somewhere that gives you the right to bring claims in your local courts or under your local law, nothing here takes that right away. Please contact us first, because most problems can be sorted out quickly.

21. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as IBD grows. When we make a material change, we’ll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect, and we’ll update the date at the top. If you keep using IBD after a change takes effect, you accept the new Terms. If you don’t agree, you can cancel and delete your account.

22. If you got IBD from the App Store

If you downloaded IBD from Apple’s App Store, these Terms are between you and MechBlocks, not Apple. MechBlocks, not Apple, is responsible for the app and its content, maintenance, support, warranty, and any claims about it, including product liability, legal compliance, and intellectual-property claims. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you can notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price of the app, if any. Apple has no other warranty obligation. You confirm that you’re not in a country subject to U.S. government embargo and aren’t on any U.S. government list of prohibited parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. Your use of the app must also follow the App Store’s usage rules.

23. Everything else

These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service. If a court finds part of these Terms unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce a term right away, we haven’t given up the right to enforce it. You may not transfer these Terms to anyone else. We may transfer them if IBD is sold or reorganized, and your rights under them will continue.
