FAQ & Support

Everything you need to know about Idea Baby Daycare — from getting started to managing your account.

Getting Started

What is Idea Baby Daycare?

Idea Baby Daycare is where rough ideas get captured fast, validated by a real community, and either built, shipped, or set free. Drop off any half-baked thought — a sentence, a shower idea, a "what if" — and the AI turns it into a clear pitch. The community then reacts across five felt dimensions: Signal (I understand it), Spark (I feel something), Buildability (I believe it can exist), Freshness (it feels new), and Worth Pursuing (I want it to happen). Then you decide: build it, ship it, or set it free. Every idea gets an ending — no idea purgatory.

How do I create an account?

Tap "Sign In" and choose one of three options: Sign in with Apple, Sign in with Google, or Sign in with GitHub. No passwords to remember — your account is created automatically through your chosen provider. You can browse ideas without an account, but you'll need to sign in to submit ideas, vote, comment, or follow other users.

Can I link multiple sign-in methods to my account?

Yes. Go to your Profile and link additional providers (Apple, Google, or GitHub) so you can sign in with any of them. You can also unlink a provider as long as you have at least one remaining.

Is there a tutorial?

Yes. When you first open the app, you'll see a 5-page onboarding walkthrough covering the core concepts: how ideas work, AI polishing, community scoring, navigation, and the leveling system. You can skip it at any time. It only shows once.

Submitting an Idea

How do I submit an idea?

Tap the + tab. Type your idea — rough is fine, bullet points, fragments, stream of consciousness. Optionally give it a title (or let the AI generate one) and pick a category chip. Toggle Public or Private, then tap submit. That's it.

For more control, tap "More options" to set an intent (document / develop / produce / publish) or priority. Public ideas go through an automated AI safety review before they appear in Browse.

What does the AI do to my idea?

Two things, both behind the scenes. First, it predicts how a curious audience would react across the five felt dimensions (Signal, Spark, Buildability, Freshness, Worth Pursuing) and seeds your idea's initial scores. Second, for public ideas, it runs an automated safety review before publishing. Your words stay your words — the AI doesn't rewrite your description.

What are the idea categories?

Category Description
Apps & Games Mobile apps, games, digital tools, software ideas
Products & Gadgets Physical products, hardware, devices, inventions
Content & Media Videos, podcasts, blogs, creative content, entertainment
Community & Social Social platforms, events, group activities, communities
Health & Wellness Fitness, mental health, self-improvement, wellbeing
Learning & Skills Education, courses, tutorials, skill-building, teaching
Home & Life Household solutions, lifestyle improvements, life admin
Improve This App Suggest features, improvements, or changes for this app

What are the permission levels?

Level Who Can See It What It Means
Private Only you Saved as a draft. Not visible to the community. Can be made public later.
Public Everyone Visible in the Browse feed. Community can vote and comment.
Collab Everyone Public + open for collaboration. Others can join and work on it with you.
Open Build Everyone Public + anyone can build it freely. You're sharing the idea with the world.

What happens after I submit?

For non-private ideas, an AI safety review runs automatically. If the safety score is 80 or above, your idea is approved and published immediately. Scores between 50–79 are held for review. Scores below 50 are rejected. You earn 20 XP for submitting.

Can I edit my idea after submitting?

Yes. As the idea owner, you can edit the title, description, category, permission level, tags (up to 5), resource links (up to 3), prototype URL, and cover image URL from the idea detail screen. Edits create versioned revisions so you can see the history.

How do drafts work?

Your text and selected category auto-save as you type during the Capture step. If you close the app and come back, your draft is still there. Once you submit, the draft is cleared. Private ideas also function as persistent server-side drafts that appear in your Vault.

Voting & Scoring

How does scoring work?

Every idea is scored across five felt dimensions:

  • Signal — "I understand it." Does the description get through clearly?
  • Spark — "I feel something." Does it land emotionally — curiosity, delight, recognition?
  • Buildability — "I believe it can exist." Can you imagine a real version of this?
  • Freshness — "It feels new." Not a copy of what's already out there.
  • Worth Pursuing — "I want it to happen." Would you use it, share it, or be glad it exists?

Each dimension is scored 0–100. The AI predicts how a curious audience would react when the idea is submitted, then the community adjusts the scores through voting.

How do I vote on an idea?

There are two ways to vote:

  1. Upvote — A simple thumbs-up to show support. Toggle it on or off.
  2. Dimension votes — Vote up, down, or neutral on each of the five dimensions (Signal, Spark, Buildability, Freshness, Worth Pursuing) individually. This is how you shape the community score.

How much can community votes change the score?

Community dimension votes can adjust each score up to +/- 20 points from the AI's initial score.

Is there a daily vote limit?

Yes. Your daily vote limit depends on your level. Votes reset at your local midnight. Your remaining votes and reset countdown are shown on your Profile.

Level Title Daily Votes
1 Dreamer 5
2 Tinkerer 10
3 Inventor 15
4 Innovator 20
5 Visionary 25
6 Pioneer 30
7 Trailblazer 40
8 Mastermind 50
9 Legend 75
10 Founder 100

What is the speed voting limit?

To prevent spam, if you cast 5 or more votes within a 2-minute window, you'll hit a brief cooldown. Wait 2 minutes and you can continue voting.

What is consensus and early voter bonus?

When enough people vote the same direction on a dimension, consensus forms. If your vote matches the consensus, you earn 5 bonus XP. The first 30% of voters are considered "early voters" and earn an additional 3 XP bonus on top of that.

Streaks

How do streaks work?

Use the app every day to build a streak. Any qualifying activity (submitting an idea, voting, commenting) counts. If you miss a day, your streak resets to zero.

What do streaks do?

Streaks multiply all the XP you earn. The longer your streak, the bigger the bonus:

Streak Length XP Multiplier Effective Bonus
0–2 days 1.0x No bonus
3 days 1.1x +10%
7 days 1.25x +25%
14 days 1.5x +50%
30 days 1.75x +75%
60 days 2.0x +100% (double XP)
100+ days 2.5x +150%

Your current streak, multiplier, next milestone, and longest streak are all shown on your Profile.

When does my streak reset?

If you don't have any qualifying activity by the end of the day (your local midnight), your streak resets to 1 the next time you're active. Your longest streak is always preserved as a personal record.

Build, Ship & Set Free

How does an idea move forward?

Every idea has three possible endings. From the My Ideas tab, tap into any idea to choose:

  • Build — keep the idea in Daycare and work on it (inside the app, or with your own tools/agents). It stays in your Daycare list.
  • Graduate — graduate the idea with a link to the result. Graduated ideas get a proof receipt and move to your Graduated tab.
  • Set Free — release the idea. Save it, but stop pretending you're working on it. It moves to your Set Free tab and you can bring it back any time.

Daycare ideas that sit untouched for 30+ days get a "Needs a Decision" prompt — the goal is to keep your mind like water, not full of half-finished ideas.

What are collaboration agreements?

When an idea is set to "Collab" permission, the idea creator can set up collaboration terms by answering a questionnaire:

  1. What are we building? (the core deliverable)
  2. What are we NOT building? (scope boundaries)
  3. How are decisions made? (Creator Decides / Consensus / Majority Vote)
  4. How is credit split? (Equal / Contribution Based / Creator Majority)
  5. What's the expected time commitment?
  6. What's the definition of done?
  7. Additional notes (optional)

AI generates a formal collaboration agreement from these answers. The creator can edit and publish the terms. Anyone who wants to join as "Building" must agree to the published terms first.

What if there's a disagreement between collaborators?

The app has a built-in dispute system. Collaborators can file a dispute, and AI will analyze the situation and propose a resolution based on the collaboration agreement terms.

Privacy & Safety

How does the AI safety review work?

Every non-private idea goes through an automated AI safety review before publication. The AI scores the content from 0–100 based on whether it contains harmful, violent, illegal, hateful, explicit, harassing, spam, or misleading content.

  • Score 80+: Automatically approved and published.
  • Score 50–79: Held for review.
  • Score below 50: Rejected.

You can see your idea's safety status on its detail screen.

What data do you collect?

We collect only what's necessary to run the app: your sign-in information (name, email, and profile photo from your OAuth provider), your ideas, votes, comments, and app activity for the XP/leveling system. We do not sell your data to third parties. Only your idea content (not your personal identity) is sent to OpenAI for AI processing. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

Is my data shared with third parties?

Your idea content is processed by OpenAI for AI polishing, scoring, and safety review. No personal identity information is included. Error tracking through Sentry is anonymized. Your data is never sold.

Is the app safe for children?

Idea Baby Daycare is not intended for children under 13.

  2. Scroll to the bottom to the Danger Zone section.
  3. Tap Delete Account.
  4. Confirm twice — you'll see two separate confirmation prompts to make sure this is intentional.

Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All your ideas, votes, and profile data will be permanently removed.

Leaderboard

How does the Leaderboard work?

The Leaderboard ranks ideas and users across six categories:

Category What It Ranks
Top Voted Ideas with the most upvotes
Top Rated Ideas with the highest average AI score
Trending Ideas with the most engagement in the last 7 days
Most Discussed Ideas with the most comments
Open Build Open Build ideas ranked by votes
Top Contributors Users ranked by total XP earned

The top 3 in each category are highlighted with gold, silver, and bronze. You can filter by All Time, This Week, or Today.

Troubleshooting

Why was my idea rejected?

Your idea didn't pass the automated AI safety review. This can happen if the content was flagged as potentially harmful, inappropriate, or unclear. Try rephrasing your idea to be clearer and ensure it doesn't contain harmful content.

Why is my idea stuck in "Review"?

Ideas with a safety score between 50–79 are held for manual review before being published. This is to ensure quality and safety across the platform. Please be patient while it's reviewed.

Why can't I vote?

A few possible reasons:

  • You've reached your daily vote limit (check your Profile to see remaining votes and reset time).
  • You're voting too quickly (5+ votes in 2 minutes triggers a brief cooldown).
  • You're not signed in (voting requires an account).

I signed in with Apple but my name shows as "User"

Apple only shares your name on the very first sign-in. If you skipped sharing your name initially, you can update your Display Name in your Profile settings at any time.

How do I contact support?

Email us at [email protected]. You can also submit feature suggestions directly in the app using the "Improve This App" category when creating an idea.
