It works with claude.ai, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor and Claude Desktop, and with any app that supports remote MCP servers.
What it can and can't do
It can:
- find and read your own Rooms, including archived ones;
- drop notes into a Room's Agent Inbox;
- propose edits to a Room's document, which you accept or reject;
- add and tick off Moves, add links, and set tags and the next step.
It can't:
- delete or archive anything;
- change who's in a Room;
- touch Rooms other people share with you, unless you allow it.
Archived Rooms are read-only to it. You choose its permissions when you connect, and you can disconnect it at any time.
Rooms shared with you. Under Permissions on Agents, you can let an assistant work in Rooms other people share with you too. It's off by default, because anyone in those Rooms can write things your assistant will read. Turn it on only if you trust the people in them.
Connect claude.ai or ChatGPT
You need an active membership. These two connect from their side, and send you to Idea Baby Daycare to approve.
claude.ai
- In Claude, open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
- Name it Idea Baby Daycare and paste this URL, with nothing after
/mcp:https://ideababydaycare.com/api/agent/mcp - Click Connect. Claude sends you to Idea Baby Daycare: sign in if you need to, choose what Claude may do, and click Allow.
ChatGPT
- In ChatGPT, open Settings → Apps & Connectors. Under Advanced settings, turn on Developer mode.
- Create a connector with the URL
https://ideababydaycare.com/api/agent/mcpand choose OAuth for authentication. - ChatGPT sends you to Idea Baby Daycare. Choose what it may do and click Allow.
Menu names change from time to time. If you can't find them, look for "custom connector" or "MCP" in the app's settings. Custom connectors may need a paid plan in those apps.
Either way, the connection shows up on Agents, where you can change its permissions or disconnect it.
Connect Claude Code, Cursor or Claude Desktop
You need an active membership.
- On a computer, open ideababydaycare.com/agents while signed in.
- Name your assistant, untick anything you don't want it to do, then click Connect an assistant.
- Pick your app and copy the setup it shows. The key is shown once. If you lose it, disconnect the assistant and connect again.
Claude Code
Paste the command into your terminal. It looks like this:
claude mcp add --transport http idea-baby-daycare https://ideababydaycare.com/api/agent/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer ibd_agent_…"
Cursor
Add the JSON to ~/.cursor/mcp.json, then reload Cursor.
Claude Desktop
Open Settings → Developer → Edit Config, add the JSON, and restart Claude Desktop. This needs Node.js installed.
Another MCP app
Add a remote (Streamable HTTP) MCP server with the URL
https://ideababydaycare.com/api/agent/mcp and the header
Authorization: Bearer ibd_agent_….
Try it
Ask your assistant:
- "List my Idea Baby Daycare Rooms."
- "Read my Pilot Room and add a note with three ideas for the next scene."
- "Propose a tighter version of the opening paragraph in Pilot."
Then open the Room. Notes appear in the Agent Inbox. Proposed edits wait for you, side by side, to accept or reject. Everything the assistant does is listed under Recent agent activity on Agents.
If something goes wrong
The app can't find the server, or says 404. Check the URL ends exactly in
/api/agent/mcp. A stray comma, space or full stop pasted on the end is the
usual cause.
The assistant gets a plain reason with every refusal. The common ones:
| It says | What it means |
|---|---|
room_archived | The Room is archived. Restore it if you want changes. |
room_not_found | It isn't one of your own Rooms (or a shared one, if you allowed those). |
agent_scope_required | You didn't allow that. Change it on Agents. |
MEMBERSHIP_REQUIRED | Your membership has lapsed. |
agent_credential_invalid | The assistant was disconnected. Connect it again. |
If anything else looks wrong, tell us what you asked for and roughly when.
